TIRANA, Feb. 5 – Forty artworks by Albanian artist Gezim Llalla, among which several mosaics, are being displayed in an exhibition at the FAB gallery of the University of Arts in Tirana.
Llalla is participating in the exhibition “Form is enough to thought” with ten mosaics created in stone, ceramic and concrete, representing mythological figures and Albanian history and thirty other works created in stone, wood and acrylic.
“Each stone symbolizes different stories of people and communities. Each stone represents a sign, an event or story such as wedding dances, funeral rites or successful battles. From Chameria to Kosovo, these stones were taken from local areas and signed by local people,” says the author.
“The stones apart from the aesthetic beauty are at the same time a document of the individuals connected to the areas they represent, myths or legends of the Albanian people.”
The exhibition will be open at the FAB gallery from February 6 to 13.
