TIRANA, April 11 – Some of the best instrumentalists from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia have joined to form the Pan-Albanian philharmonic orchestra in an effort to further promote cultural exchange among Albanian speaking musicians. The Pan-Albanian philharmonic orchestra includes names such as pianist Desar Sulejmani who lives and works in Germany, Kosovo conductor Baki Jashari, Macedonian violinist Blerim Grubi etc.
Speaking at a press conference last weekend, orchestra members said the newest pan-Albanian cultural institution would bring the cultural, artistic and spiritual unification of all Albanian-speaking musicians in the Balkans and around the world.
“This orchestra is first of all a joint initiative not to give two or three concerts, but to make true the idea of strengthening our cultural identity,” said pianist Desar Sulejmani.
The orchestra plans to stage a number of concerts not only in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia but also in other countries where Albanian communities live and work.
