TIRANA, Jan. 16 – The Albanian government says it has merged the National Centre for Art and Culture over mismanagement of public funds in different projects and the Ministry of Culture will take over its competences. Culture Ministry Mirela Kumbaro said the centre launched in 2012 had left the Culture Ministry around Euro 950,000 in debts.
The Culture Ministry says applications to finance projects on culture will be organized by the ministry under a new transparent scheme.
Government has also renamed the Theatre of Comedy, the Experimental Theatre also involving contemporary performing art pieces in its agenda.
