TIRANA, March 20 – Last week representative of the NATO member countries met in capital Tirana to discuss the future of the Military Strategy and Alliance Policies, mainly in the fight against nuclear substances and so far progress of the War in Afghanistan.
The meeting was opened by the Director of the Annual Symposium of the NATO Nuclear Policy, Mr. Guy Roberts, and was greeted by Albanian Defense Minister Arben Imami.
Imami said that “This is the first time an event of this kind, which brings together distinguished experts on nuclear policy, is being held in Tirana.” “We all share the view that NATO has a role to show more leadership on the nuclear challenges of the 21st century,” he said.
Experts and NATO leaders also discussed on a new beginning on the relations with Russia.
The Nuclear Policy was adopted in accordance with the responses of the security evolution. The 24th NATO Summit, which was held in Lisbon, was the first meeting at the Heads of State and Government level where Albania took part, after its membership in the Euro-Atlantic structures.
