TIRANA, Dec. 5 – In a sign of closer ties between Albania and the northern Alliance, the local media reported that NATO offices in the country were moved inside the Defense Ministry so that it could optimize its procedure and structures.
NATO has maintained an office in the country since 1999.
Albania, which is making a widespread reform within the army, hopes to become a full NATO member next year. The government also allocated more than two percent of the GDP in its budget to the military use, a precondition for any NATO member.
