TIRANA, July 30 – The new ministers in the Cabinet on Wednesday sworn in, in a ceremony where their Premier Sali Berisha did not take part.
Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli was present at the ceremony at the President Bamir Topi’s offices.
Earlier this week Genc Pollo took the vacant post of the deputy premier (left vacant since March when Gazmend Oketa moved to the post of the defense minister after the Gerdec blast); Fatos Beja became the new education minister (instead of Pollo and his post of deputy parliament speaker was filled by Ilir Rusmajli, former justice minister until last year); and Anila Godo took the post of the health minister instead of Nard Ndoka.
The new team into the cabinet was approved by the parliament in its last summer session Monday evening when the opposition voted against and Ndoka’s lawmakers abstained.
That is the fourth reshuffle Berisha has made since he came to power in September 2005. (Tirana Times Staff)
