TIRANA, Nov. 2 – The Bank of Albania has launched a new draft-package of measures to support the country’s economic growth through higher lending and at the same time preserve the banking system’s stability. The draft package was launched this week in round table meeting with representatives of the Albanian Association of Banks, who were asked for commitment to efficiently put them into practice.
Central bank analysis shows liquidity in the banking system has considerably improved during this year as the public trust restored and deposits are registering sustainable growth.
The provision of new services, such as internet and mobile banking, of which the bank has taken measures to create the necessary legal and technical infrastructure, was another issue discussed in the round table.
