FIER, April 13 – A large metal beam used to drill oil in Ruzhdie village, Fier district, was stolen so it might be sold as scrap, according to police.
Police were alerted by local residents about the theft and discovered an oil well half dismantled by thieves.
As the oil well was operating when it was disassembled, some environmental damage was caused by the spilled oil.
The stolen beam was discovered by police a few meters from the well. (Tirana Times Staff)
