TIRANA, Aug. 4 – The opposition Socialists on Tuesday expressed their concern Tuesday on the economic situation of the country.
Ilir Beqja said that the country’s industry was being working at only 40 percent, construction 63 percent and that most businesses have no plan to increase staff or invest in the future, a clear sign of the economic crisis that has engulfed the country.
Beqja criticized the government for not taking the proper steps to cope with such effects of the global crisis in the poor country.
But at the same time Prime Minister Sali Berisha continued his daily inaugurations in the Riviera where he is staying on vacation.
After inaugurating a short road to a tourist village near Dhermi, Berisha said that within the year all the infrastructure linked to the tourist areas along the Albanian shore would be asphalted and rehabilitated.
He also called on all Albanians and local businesses to keep prices low in order to attract as many foreign tourists as possible, considering tourism is a main resource of income for the country.
