TIRANA, Dec. 25 – Thousands of Orthodox and Catholic Albanians celebrated the Christmas Monday evening and Tuesday.
Thousands of beleivers followed the ceremonies at the Cathoplic and Orthodox churches in capital Tirana and all around the country.
On Tuesday all top personalities, including President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha and opposition leaders visited the Orthodox and Catholic headquarters to extend their wishes.
Albania is a predominantly Muslim country with large Orthodox and Catholic communities that have always lived in peaceful coexistence.
Such a peaceful coexistence has always been considered a good example in the Balkans, often rigged from religious acrimonies and wars.
