TIRANA, April 30 – A parliamentary commission has discussed whether to lift the immunity of a former Defense Minister accused of abusing his powers, but postponed its decision, asking the prosecutor general’s office to present additional documents.
Before deciding, it is expected the parliamentary committee will debate the issue, followed by a parliamentary debate prior to voting on the immunity question.
Mediu has been accused of abuse of post by the investigation team looking into the explosion at the Gerdec ammunition disposal factory, which killed 26 people and wounded more than 300.
