TIRANA, March 21 – Opposition Socialists said Wednesday that a parliamentary investigative commission created to check the property of Prime Minister Sali Berisha and other personalities had failed as it had not convened at all. The commission was created by the governing Democratic Party after the opposition Socialists started to publicize alleged doubtful income and property of Berisha’s family members. The commission was headed by Bujar Nishani who earlier this week became interior minister. The governing Democrats came to power pledging the fight against corruption at the top of their priorities.
