TIRANA, March 6 – Alda Dizdari, an Albanian pianist who has risen to international fame, will make her Cadogan Hall debut in London. Dizdari will be performing on March 20 with pianist Tom Blach with whom she has recorded the Eastern Europe musical journey album. She will perform Brahms’ complete sonatas for violin and piano.
“Dizdari has the right balance of romantic feelings, deep and diverse expression in the sound, natural approach to phrasing, scrupulous attention to detail with an incredible sense of proportion and structure,” says the Cadogan Hall.
Now based in the UK, Alda was born into a family of musicians and left her native Albania from an early age to pursue her career in music. She studied in Romania with distinguished soloists and received a Bachelor Degree from the University of Bucharest. She continued her Master Studies at the University of Illinois in USA and her Advanced Instrumental Studies in London, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with David Takeno where she also held for two years the prestigious Leverhulme String Fellowship. In 2008 she was appointed Musician in Residence of The Wapping Arts Trust with HRH Princess Michael of Kent as Patron. She has embarked on an extended tour of concerts and projects exploring the relationship between music and art called “Rhythmic Ties Concert Series”. These projects have taken her all around England, Holland, France, Spain, US and Australia collaborating with major visual artists and musicians.
