VLORA, March 17 – Police found 344 kilograms of cannabis sativa and a 4.2 meter long speedboat in southwestern Vlora district and arrested four persons for trying to smuggle it into Italy. The drug and the boat were found at Pusi I Mezinit. Police first found one of the suspects in a minivan with 300 kilograms of drugs. He was accompanied by another car. The other drug was found at their house. Police has launched an intensive work to fight drug traffic. Since last year all speedboats are banned for the next three years from being used in an effort to prevent trafficking. In another operation named Thyerja (Break) police arrested Nikolin Dani, 38, Ferit Ciku, 23, and Valbona Basha, 28, found with three kilograms of marijuana and stolen cigarettes at a pub in Tirana.
