Police thank Albanians for behavior during Bush visit

TIRANA, June 11 – A day after the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush to Albania, Tirana police thanked the capital’s residents for following the rules put in place for the event.
Top policeman, Ahmet Premci, thanked all citizens and especially the media outlets for their close cooperation and public awareness during the visit. Premci also thanked police forces. During the eight-hour visit of the U.S. president, 4,800 policemen were on the streets and other forces were on full alert. As a sign of gratitude for their work, top police officials were invited by the American embassy to meet with President Bush at the airport before his departure. During the visit, there were no public incidents, according to police officials.
