TIRANA, April 20 – Top policeman Ahmet Prenci warned police forces in northern Shkodra to try their utmost in stopping current narcotic cultivation.
Prenci was in the northern city as a part of his countrywide trip meeting with all police stations ahead of the June 28 parliamentary elections.
Spring is the proper time to plant narcotics and stopping it now would surely release police from much of its work later in the year to cut the plants.
Prenci said police should be focused in its daily work in the prevention of narcotics planting.
Shkodra has been noted to be one of the areas where a great deal of cannabis sativa cultivation has been found by police.
Prenci said that no one should “think that ahead of elections police would tolerate such a phenomenon.”
The top policeman also urged closer collaboration with local authorities in such a fight.
