TIRANA, Feb. 6 – Posters and ideas by renowned Hungarian poster artist Peter Pocs will for the first be on display in Tirana in one-month exhibition. The Posters & Ideas exhibition which will be on display at the National Arts Gallery from February 6 to March 9 features a selection of Pocs’s works focusing mainly on the cultural poster, but included are also some powerful personal peaks of the artist in the political poster.
His images, most of the time in surreal scenes and interpretations, sculpted with deep seriousness and strong passions, find inspiration mostly in the history of Hungary, and especially in its political situation during the 20th century, but some of his works are very much universal, as in the case of posters that show the collapse of communism across Eastern Europe in 1989-1990.
