Prime Minister to attend Davos WEF forum

TIRANA, Jan.22- Albanian prime Minister Sali Berisha and Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha are participating in the Davos annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, the high profile event of global economics and development. The invitation for the Albanian delegation has been sent by Head of the executive Board of the forum, Klaus Schwab.
The WEF will continue from Jan 23 to Jan.27 and Albania will represent its major achievements in the field of reforms. PM will also conduct important meetings with other participants in the forum.
The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Incorporated as a foundation in 1971, and based in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Economic Forum is impartial and not-for-profit; it is tied to no political, partisan or national interests. The World Economic Forum is under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Government. For over three decades, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting has provided an unrivalled platform for leaders from all walks of life to shape the global agenda at the start of each year. The Annual Meeting 2008 program will be based on the following five conceptual pillars: Business: Competing While Collaborating; Economics and Finance: Addressing Economic Insecurity; Geopolitics: Aligning Interests across Divides; Science and Technology: Exploring Nature’s New Frontiers; and finally Values and Society: Understanding Future Shifts.
