TIRANA, Feb 16 – EuroPartners Development in cooperation with AYNEI is implementing the project “Increase the Capacities of Albanian NGOs Towards Future Sustainability” that aims at both raising the capacities and providing the NGOs with skills and information on how to use the opportunities available to them and the different ways of cooperation and partnership building to increase their financial resources.
Target groups are all NGOs in regions where projects will be implemented; Tirana, Shkoder, Elbasan, Korçe, Gjirokaster and Vlora. They include NGOs dealing with human rights, women, youth, teachers associations, culture, sports, business and farmer associations, all of which have already been identified based on previous projects.
A Situation Analyses and Training Needs Assessment (SA & TNA) was undertaken during the period of November 2008 – January 2009 to identify the opinion of several CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) in Albania in regards to issues related to their sustainability as well as collecting feedback on their needs for further capacity building.
The SA & TNA provides an accurate mapping of needs and gaps in knowledge giving the project team a clear indication of where and how to apply human and financial resources for the project, but also for other potential projects to transfer know-how and build knowledge, skills and capacity of the CSOs in Albania in order to enable them to play their role better and also increase their sustainability.
The Guide to CSOs sustainability is being prepared by the contributions of a team composed of international and local experts. The organization’s overall sustainability is promoted through a broad-range of interdisciplinary approaches.
The Guide to CSOs sustainability is expected to be published by mid March 2009.
