TIRANA, Jan.8- The agency of return and compensation of property will finalize the list of owners that will benefit form the compensation fund in 2008 within the end of January, Besnik Maho head of the agency said. The agency is also coordinating the work of several agencies in order to consolidate a physical compensation fund. The legalization of buildings constructed illegally is on of the more challenges of the administration with an estimated 250.000 illegal constructions and entire informal areas waiting to receive legal status.
“Property with justice” to protest postponing compensations
The Association of Albanian land owners, “Property with justice”, has decided to appeal in the Constitutional Court, the decision of the government to postpone by six months the compensations. They claim that the government has not prepared a comprehensive financial bill yet.
