Prosecutor office claims better results

TIRANA, Nov 23 – A report by Prosecutor General Ina Rama notes that prosecutors had achieved more convictions during the first half of 2009 than in the same period in past years.
The report said prosecutors had initiated 14 percent more penal cases compared to a year ago.
In an interesting detail, the report said there have been 357 penal procedures for corruption cases and some 107 persons were indicted. That was a one-third increase compared to one year ago.
