BAJRAM CURRI, April 26 – Main opposition Socialist Party leader Edi Rama made a visit to northeastern remote town of Bajram Curri in a rare visit not done by all other top politicians, including Prime Minister Sali Berisha whose origin comes from that area.
Rama visited the area as part of his tour Dialogue with Albania.
He first visited a village near the town then he moved to Bajram Curri to hold a meeting at the cinema hall there.
Hundreds of local residents applauded his words but also asked on many issues, all complaining of being forgotten by the post-communist governments.
Rama made it clear in his speech that before being a militant into a political party on whichever side every Albanian is first a resident in his country, meaning that authorities should pay attention to such poor areas. Rama pledged a new policy when they come to power. (Tirana Times Staff)
