TIRANA, April 23 – Met Bega, one of Albania’s icon comics, passed away this week at the age of 69 after a 15-year battle with the Parkinson’s disease.
During his 40-year career, he performed dozens of roles with the Tirana ensemble and in several movies.
Culture Minister Mirela Kumbaro described his death as a great loss for the Albanian stage and public.
“A man with a smile on his heart passed away. It is a great wound that artists such as Met Bega were not rewarded for their artistic life,” said Kumbaro.
