TIRANA, Oct. 10 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha inaugurated last Sunday in the southern UNESCO town of Gjirokastra the completion of restoration works on several historic buildings of the town, worth 1.2 million euro.
After visiting the restored buildings, Berisha met the great master of restoration work Reshat Gega, at the yard of Angonate’s villa, one of the restored buildings funded by the government of Albania under the auspices of the UNESCO.
Expressing his appreciation to the restoration work carried out on these buildings, considered a national treasury and part of Gjirokastra culture, the Prime Minister assured government would do its best to re-populate and revive the historic centre of Gjirokastra, a UNSECO World Heritage site.
