TIRANA, Oct. 17 – Sculptures to some of the country’s greatest literature, history and cinema figures are being displayed in an exhibition by Qazim Arifi at the National Museum of History in Tirana. Writers Ismail Kadare, Dritoro Agolli, and Xhevahir Spahiu, historian Kristo Frasheri and actors Kadri Roshi and Mirush Kabashi are some of the busts Qazim Arifi has created during the past twenty year, many of which on public display for the first time.
Incumbent U.S president Barack Obama, former U.S president Ronald Reagan and U.S sculptor Lonnie Stewart are also part of Qazim Arifi collection of sculptures to Albanian and internationally renowned figures.
The 27 bronze portraits will remain on display at the National Museum until Sunday Oct. 21.
“My goal was to immortalize some of the figures who have contributed to the development of art and science as well as politicians contributing to the Albanian nation,” said the sculptor.
