“So close, yet so far” pre and post 1990 Albanian art

The National Art Gallery in collaboration with the Cultural Foundation “Genova Palazzo Ducale” and the Contemporary Art Museum “Villa Croce” organize an art exhibition themed “So close, yet so far” will stay opened for the public till February 2010 in Genoa, Italy. The exhibition, triggered by the twentieth anniversary of the fall of Berlin wall, aims to bring together two historical periods (before and after 1990) illustrated by different art pieces produced respectively before and after 1990. It also tries to explore the relations between different or similar approaches that are noticed in the Albanian art of both periods. The exhibition will feature different subjects such as “the work”, “the communication”, “the city”, “the farm”, “the female”, “the propaganda”, “the image of power”, “the artist” etc. Along with different paintings and sculptures produced during ’70-’80, belonging to the National Art Gallery fund, contemporary paintings, photographs, videos etc produced in the 2000 will be displayed on the “Villa Croce” museum in Italy. Kujtim Buza,Ȭirim Ceka, Perikli ȵli, Myrteza Fushekati, Gentian Gjikopulli, Alban Hajdinaj, Oriana Kamberi, Shp쵩m K쳧ova, Vilson Kilica, Idlir Koka, Xhemal Lufta, Elsa Martini, Pandi Mele, Aristotel Papa, Alvas Papandili, Heldi Pema, Suela Qoshja, Bukurosh Sejdini, Agim Shami, Sali Shijaku, Orion Shima, Gentian Shkurti, Alajdin Tabaku, Lek롔asi, Eltjon Valle, Driant Zeneli are some of the participating artists in this project curated by Matteo Fochessati, Rubens Shima and Sandra Solimano.
