Spain tells Albanians not to get decieved from lotteries

TIRANA, Sep. 24 – The Spanish embassy has made known through the Albanian Interior Ministry that a number of Albanians have fallen prey to a lottery named “el gordo dela loteria.”
It said that a number of criminal organizations, operating independently from each other, use an email address or telephone to call people throughout Europe telling them they were winners of a lottery and that they have to meet an alleged lawyer to receive their winnings.
Following that, the victim is asked to pay a certain amount of money, even thousands of Euros, for some actions like paying taxes, lawyers, courts and so on.
In fact, the money goes to these criminal organizations.
The Spanish embassy and the Albanian police appealed to citizens to be careful and not fall prey to such deceits, but immediately inform authorities if contacted.
