TIRANA, Feb. 26 – Spain will hold a seminar and debate to discuss its experience on tourism and its impact on the Albanian economy. With the aim of examining these arguments and promoting debates on the allocation of tourist resources in Albania, the Embassy of Spain, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports and National Tourism Organization, will hold the lecture and a debate on Spain’s important cultural heritage.
“Paradores” has been a successful formula that has allowed recovering Albania’s castle, monasteries and historical buildings. In addition it allowed for increased business activities and more tourist packages for the public. The importance of tourism for the economy and for the society worldwide is unquestionable. In Spain, in terms of macroeconomic indicators, tourism represents revenues accounting for 11 percent of the Gross Domestic Product and the tourism industry employs 12 percent of the nation’s workforce. One of the problems that affects the Albanian tourism industry is the lack of qualified manpower.
Conscious of this issue and willing to share the knowledge accumulated during 80 years, Paradores de Turismo contributes to the training of professionals who want to develop their career in the hotel industry.
Susanna Torres, Head of Strategic Planning of Paradores and Juan Carlos Puche, Academic Manager of Paradores will present their experiences to the Albanian staff during the seminar.
