TIRANA, July 15 – After the successful stage in Tirana, Berat and Pogradec, the 9th Spanish Cinema Week, “Europe on Screen” moved this week to the coastal city of Durres at the local Aleksander Moisiu theatre.
Five Spanish movies were screened from 16 to 20 August in Durres, which at this time is at the peak of its tourist season, said the embassy in a statement.
The movies, screened in the frame of cultural events to mark the end of the Spanish EU presidency, brought a series of stories telling the changes and challenges Spain has faced during the past 50 years.
The event opened with the screening of “One franc, 14 pesetas,” a movie directed by Carlos Iglesias. Other movies screened in the event were “The Spanish boxes,” “Sud Express”, “What I know about Lola” and “The silence before Bach.”
