TIRANA, April 28 – A prize award ceremony for the “Don Quijote de la Mancha’ literary competition and some public readings of the Don Quixote by renowned personalities of Albanian culture opened the Spanish Literature Week on Tuesday.
A literary meeting with three writers, Albania’s Bashkim Shehu and Spain’s Jordi Punti and Kirmen Uribe followed the activities at the Faculty of Foreign Languages on April 27. Thursday, April 28 featured a concert by guitarist Raul Viela paying homage to Spanish poet Gacia Lorca. Meanwhile, April 29 will bring the “Soldados de Salamina” movie at the Marubi film Academy.
Last year, two premieres, one of which a world one, were staged in Tirana during the Spanish Literature Week events held in the frame of the World Book Day. The Albanian public enjoyed the premiere of the Yerma play by Spain’s Federico GarcLorca at the theatre of the Academy of Arts and most importantly the world premiere of the “Life is a dream” play by Spanish playwright Pedro Calder
