TIRANA, Oct. 29 – Four women, Alba, Marta, Alicia and Roser, coming from four different cities of Spain, each one of them with a different vision of the music but with the same passion, ‘El flamenco’ will give their first concert in Albania.

The Las Migas quartet has been described as an explosion of pure, unique and rebellious sounds which will be offered to the public in Albania in a magical evening of music, dance and singing. The concert, organized with the support of the Spanish embassy in Albania, is scheduled for the November 5, 19:00 hrs, at the Concert Venue of the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana.

Las Migas, a group of female singers that came together in 2004, have for 11 years been shaping the world of flamenco in Spain. With two Andalusians on the guitar (Marta Robles and Alicia Grillo), a Catalan singer (Alba Carmona) and violinist (Roser Loscos) they create “a sound as diverse as their origins”. Flamenco is the basis of their music. It has been integral to their family lives since they were very young and have all grown to love it especially because it is “a kind of music that breathes the truth”. Their music however, should not be restricted to the boundaries of discipline, but rather contains traces of Latin, folk, jazz and even classical music. They experiment with rhythms and use unusual instruments allowing the sound of flamenco to metamorphose, perhaps an attempt at letting go of an old Spain much defined by its stagnated traditions, writes Spain’s daily El Mundo.
