TIRANA, Sep. 25 – Hundreds of students have protested against the method used by the Ministry of Education to admit students to the public universities.
They claimed that the ministry has been unfair and has made some admission selections leaving high school students with high marks off of admission lists.
About 24,000 high school students have been seeking admission to half the posts in the public universities.
The country has seen, in the last two years the creation, of tens of new private universities, which often are financially out of reach for them.
The ‘lost’ students said they would continue the protest in front of the main government building, that of the president and other officials.
