TIRANA, March.18- KESH organized a tender for purchase of imported energy for the period April-June 208 with an allocated budget of 51.4 million euro. Eight foreign companies that have participated in he tender have offered more energy than the required 1000MW, giving an option to the corporation to combine offers at the favored price ranging between 68 to 74 euro/MWh.
The participants were ATEL, EGLA, EFT (Switzerland), Espada, Ratia Energy (Czech republic), RUDNAP, GEN (Serbia), GSA (Albania).
KESH removed power rationing schemes on December last year after the situation on the hydropower plants improved due to increased rainfall. Recently these levels have fallen again but the corporation is trying to make up by strategic imports. Out of the daily consumption of energy in Albania measured at 17.9 million kilowatt, only 8.2 come from local production.
Supply is sufficient in KESH energy tender
