Supreme Court judge survives attack

TIRANA, Feb 9 – A senior judge of the Supreme Court, Ardian Nuni, 40 years, was wounded with shots Sunday evening in Tirana.
Four shots reached Nuni who was taken to the emergency room at the military hospital. Doctors said was his life was not threatened despite the wounds.
Nuni, a law professor and former lawyer, was appointed to the Supreme Court in May 2007.
Government and Nuni’s counterparts reacted with concern about the attack, considering it “a serious note, who wants to affect the judicial system” and have asked the proper authorities to immediately find and arrest the perpetrators.
Police have started the investigation and have questioned more than a dozen persons.
