National Energy Centre and its attachment to the National Licensing Center was topic of discussion at the Council of Ministers meeting.

A meeting of the Task Force on Regulatory Reform that was convened at Council of Ministers venues. The subject of the meeting was the National Energy Centre and its attachment to the National Licensing Center.
At the opening, PM Berisha who chaired the meeting, said that in the course of the market regulatory reform it was necessary to examine an important issue such as the National Energy Centre, One Stop Shop on energy which was set up about a year ago at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy.
The prime minister emphasized that the setting up of this centre became indispensability and was stimulated by the great international interest in Albania energy and the related business. Albania, said the prime minister, has a rather favorable geographic position set to be transformed into a real energy superpower in the region; it’s located just in the most Western front of the peninsula, less than 100 km away from one of the largest energy markets in Europe such as the Italian market, quite wealthy in its renewable energy resources.
Small and major companies have expressed an interest to invest in Albania. The center set up at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, said further the prime minister, made the first steps, but our goal has constantly been crystal clear of this center being attached to the National Licensing Center.
During the meeting, PM Berisha congratulated the National Licensing Center for its achievements within a short period of time owing to which this initiative of the government and of the Task Force on Regulatory Reform can be transformed into success stories. PM Berisha demanded that this center, in this new stage, should recruit the most qualified experts of the field.
Task Force on Regulatory Reform discussed also on concerns in regard to the licenses on ozone depletion and the practices different countries have pursued in this direction.
