TIRANA, Jan. 14 – The Electricity Power Distribution System Operator (OSHEE) has reopened the tender process on the rental of operational vehicles for an amount of about 3.8 million euros. The Public Procurement Agency, wherein the procedure was initiated, stated that the leasing period will last 36 months. This is a practice that the  Power Distribution System Operator has been following for years. In total OSHEE intends to rent 155 vehicles of which 140 will be pick-up vehicles in the service of field operations teams. OSHEE also disclosed the features that vehicles should have, starting from the engine, fuel, engine power to top speed and more.

Operators interested in this procedure must meet a set of criteria, firstly by having no outstanding liabilities with the administration and secondly, having copies of their balance sheets submitted to the National Registering Center, in addition to copies of the annual turnover declarations for the last three years, with an average turnover of no less than 190,000,000 lek.

A certificate confirming the settlement of all registered matured obligations of the energy contracts that the economic operator has in Albania, must also be submitted to the NRC. Failure to pay back the electricity obligations is one of the reasons for the disqualification of the economic operator, unless it is found that the outstanding electricity obligations, confirmed in the certificate issued by the supplier, are in the process of being appealed in court. The electricity supplier is obliged to issue this certificate no later than five days from the date of submission of the request by the economic operator.
