Tenor Saimir Pirgu to perform at Opera House

TIRANA, May 13 – Tenor Saimir Pirgu will give on Sunday, May 16, a concert at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Pirgu will sing some of the best arias of his repertoire accompanied by the symphonic orchestra of the Opera House which will be conducted by maestro Zhani Ciko.
With debuts and regular guest engagements in new productions with top conductors on the most important international operatic platforms in Europe and Japan already at the age of 29 tenor Saimir Pirgu is emerging as one of the most sought-after lyric tenors on the current opera scene.
Saimir Pirgu’s international breakthrough came in 2004, when he was invited by Italy’s Claudio Abbado to sing the role of Ferrando in “Cosi fan tutte” in Ferrara, Reggio Emilio, and Modena.
