VLORA, April.2 – Just a few steps away of the blue sea of the Vlora city, where the private gallery “Xhemart” is located, the painter Fatmir Veliaj chose to promote his exhibition tilted “The Rhapsody of the blue of the South.”
It all started with an invitation of his colleague, the owner of the gallery to visit the gallery and to discuss about the idea of exhibiting Veliaj’s works realized in Vlora. In the opening of the exhibition, friends, colleagues as well as people interested in arts were present. I. Bani, the Chairman of the Vlora Artists League, said during the opening of the exhibition that Veliaj is a citizen of honor in Vlora.
At the Veliaj’s exhibition 4 positions of his work since 1998 were represented. There were 32 works; some of them unknown for the public of Vlora and Albania as well. This personal exhibition in the artist’s city of birth has brought different paintings such as: “The Green”, “Between me and you”, “The cemetery of the small village”, “The boulevard of dreams”, “Red and Black”, “The red hope inside of me”, “The streets of the small village”, The rhapsody of the blue of the south”, “Black, blue and reflections” and “Reflections and words”. These are all part of the cycles, “Paint into the light”, “Emotions”, “Memories from the future” and “Imitation of life”.
During the opening speech, the author mentioned the generosity of the gallery’s owner who gave the city another opportunity to develop art. The author has also informed the visitors about his future plans in Albania and especially in Vlora. The exhibition is supported by the Austrian Embassy in Tirana.
