Theft, drug traffic were main objects of police arrests

TIRANA, March 21 – Police focus the last week has been fighting theft and drug traffic. Police arrested two persons, Artur Arapaj, 34, and Besim Ismaili, 32, who were trying to steal a Mercedes car Tuesday in Tirana. That was part of the Autostop 3 police operation. Police had been considering their activity for some time, a statement said. Police also found another stolen car at a place in Selite near Tirana the two suspects used as a store room. In another operation police arrested Tuesday Erjon Salikaj, 28, for theft of a shop. A BMW X3 vehicles was also blocked in Tirana after found with irregular documentation. In another operation named Rrethimi police arrested five persons who were charged with violent theft of many houses in Tirana suburbs. Two Kalashnikov rifles and other items were sequestered at their houses. Birce Basho, 24, was arrested Monday for drug trafficking. After checking his place police 400 grams of cannabis which Basho had allegedly prepared to sell. Police also added that another person, whose name was not made known due to the ongoing investigation, was also being looked after. Fatjon D, 16, was arrested in Tirana for stealing a power generator. Police arrested Osman Vranica, 70, who had used a knife to hit one of his mates at the old men shelter in Tirana. Riza Shasha was allegedly hit with a knife after a quarrel of who was to take a shower. Shasha was taken to hospital for a wound in his neck but his health improved immediately. Altin Hanxhaku, 35 ,m was arrested and accused of for deceit after he asked for considerable amounts of money in exchange for helping people solve thier problems at the judiciary. Police found false docuemtns the suspect used to be introduced as a police office.
