Albania’s greatest international artists are coming together in an exhibition
TIRANA, Jan. 22 – Some of Albania’s greatest international artists are coming together in an exhibition at the newly opened Apartment gallery in Tirana. The artists include renowned late Albanian painter Ibrahim Kodra who spend his life in Italy, and famous Albanian-born U.S photographer Gjon Mili, famous sculptor Odhise Paskali, and artists from the younger generation such as New York based Heldi Pema, Milan-based Eltjon Valle, and Kosovo-born Amsterdam based Jakup Ferri.
The “Then and Now” exhibition plays with the argument of time and the movement of generations. It is not by chance that artists of a historic era such as Mili, Paskali and Kodra have been selected along with contemporary artists such as Ferri, Pema and Valle. This confrontation, this illustration of the past with the present is the script for the creation of this exhibition. The exhibition inaugurated on January 24 will remain open at the apartment gallery near the Zoo until the end of next February.
