TIRANA, Aug 29 – Supported by funding from USAID, Thomas Cook Publishing has issued their first ever CitySpots guide to destinations in Albania, a guidebook authored by Tim Clancy, an expert on travel and tourism in Southeast Europe.
It focuses on Tirana, with coverage of Kruja and Berat.
Clancy traveled to Albania in November 2007 and, with assistance from the USAID EDEM team, met with over 50 hotel managers, travel agency and restaurant owners, museum curators, tourist guides and local artists.
He has crammed a lot of practical travel tips and information into this compact 142 page pocket-sized Tirana CitySpot guide.
There are concise sections on history, lifestyle, culture, shopping and even the annual Human Rights Film Festival held in Tirana in March.
The practical information sections provide travelers with the essential information they need to arrange accommodations, visit the “Bllok” area nightlife and attractions of Tirana, sip coffee and people watch, and sample the cuisine of Albania.
There is also a section on “Green Tirana,” which guides travelers to the natural side of Tirana and surroundings – such as Ib롖illage near the Petrela Castle, Mount Dajti and its cable car to the summit, and the Grand Park of Tirana.
Thomas Cook has been publishing travel guides, timetables and maps for over 130 years.
