And selection for the festival continues until the 30th of September

The International Film Festival of Durr쳠(International Summerfest Film 09), which is still new, this being its second anniversary, is not the only international film festival that takes place in Albania.
The Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) has been running for a longer time. This year it will reach its seventh anniversary and will be held from the 28th of November to the 6th of December 2009, reports Gazeta Libertas (5.08.2009). The organizing committee announced last week that the selection of the films for the TIFF 2009 will continue until the 30th of September.
This year the festival will admit not only short films, but also longer ones. The competition will run in three categories: short film, long film and “Digiart”, which is described as a new category for the short television films.
Participating films will have been released after September 2008. Films in the “long film” category should be longer than 70 minutes, while films in the “short film” category should be shorter than 30 minutes, reports Gazeta Libertas.
During the festival days, a number of meetings with artists and seminars will be held, making Tirana, the capital of Albania, a meeting point among artists from all over, opening new horizons.
Among the participating directors and artists in the previous years of the festival have been great names of world cinema like Ken Loach, Goran Paskalevi笠Alexander Rockwell, Miguel Hermoso, Sergio Rubini, Sam Green, Andrea Bazin, Angeliki Antoniou, Edoardo Winspeare, Franko Nero and Alessandro Piva.
