TIRANA, April 2 – “Timeless celebration” is the newest exhibition that has opened at the Zeta art gallery in Tirana where contemporary artist Kosta Koçi is featuring several artworks he has produced mixing industrial materials, elements of painting and graphics.

“The portraits painted by Kosta Koçi are direct depictions of the Albanian life in a forbidden animation, and in-between the obvious and the stand-still is concealed the dichotomy of repression and expression,” curators say.

“Paintings are created within a historical context, but without the irony of the historical distance. In the changes of the palette of colours and the increased use of the impasto – from Koçi’s earlier paintings to the last ones – we find the reflection of the Albanian point of view on life, with a consistent and profound sense of humanity that is extended throughout his oeuvre.”

The exhibition will be open at the Zeta gallery from April 2 to 15.

Since 2007, when Zeta was launched with a personal exhibition by Edi Hila, it has become among the few private galleries with a tight agenda of events focusing on visual arts and young contemporary artists, providing huge contribution to their support and promotion.
