Tirana hails Kosovo’s independence

TIRANA, Feb. 16 – Albania hailed Kosovo on its second anniversary of independence. Albanian President Bamir Topi sent a telegram of congratulations to his Kosovo counterpart Fatmir Sejdiu saying that such a joyful day “reconfirms the maximal will for the continuation and strengthening of our strong multilateral ties existing between our two countries.”
Topi also assured Sejdiu that Albania would continue its commitment to support Kosovo’s recognition efforts in the world and its integration process into the Euro-Atlantic organizations, that is NATO and the European Union.
Topi also highly evaluated Kosovo’s fast steps toward consolidation of the internal policies, the creation of an equal multiethnic society, the rule of law and stability, and also the regional and European policy Prishtina is committed to.
