Tirana police impose stricter traffic control to reduce accidents

TIRANA, May 17 – Tirana police have been trying to strengthen driving rules this week in an effort to reduce the number of auto accidents before the tourist season begins.
There is a greater police presence on the entrances to main roads in the capital, with police paying special attention to the enforcement of driving laws by local drivers.
During the first two weeks this month in the capital Tirana there have been 151 road accidents in which two persons have died and 15 others injured.
Police have appealed to the drivers to respect traffic rules and also asked citizens to call 129 and 126 to report unsafe drivers.
