TIRANA, Aug. 8 – Newly-elected Albanian President Bamir Topi met last week with leaders of the religious communities in Albania, his press office reported.
Topi had separate meetings with Orthodox archbishop Anastassios Yanoulatos, head of the Muslim community Selim Muca, other Bektashi Muslim leader Baba Haxhi Reshat Bardhi.
He is also to meet soon with the Catholic archbishop Rrok Mirdita who is out of the country, according to the statement.
All religious leaders discussed the return of their properties and the financial difficulties they encountered in the everyday functioning.
Topi spoke highly of the religious harmony and tolerance and their contribution in that sphere.
Albania has long been an example of the religious harmony.
