TIRANA, Sep 8 – The Institute of Statistics has said that the volume index of turnover on retail trade in the second quarter of 2008 rose 172.2 percent against earlier periods (2005=100) and, compared to the second quarter of the previous year, increased by 28.3 per cent.
Compared to the previous quarter, it increased 7.2 per cent.
In the group, “No- specialized store with food, beverages, tobacco,” the volume index of turnover in second quarter 2008 increased 14 percent compared with the previous quarter. In June, the index of volume in this group increased 7.0 percent compared to May 2008.
In the group, “Total sale and repair of motor vehicles,” the volume index increased 5.8 percent compared to the previous quarter.
Inside “Total sale and repair of motor vehicles,” within the group “Retail sale of automotive fuel,” the volume index of turnover in second quarter 2008 decreased by 2.3 percent compared with previous quarters.
Employment index on “Retail trade” in the second quarter increased 171.3 per cent against (2005=100), with an increase of 15.1 percent compared with the same period last year.
