TIRANA, Jan. 8 – Considering a new approach in time – to the benefit of public interest instead of nostalgia – painting can be a comfortable staircase to still discovering new territories and characters, even a re-established prediction. That’s what curator Vladimir Myrtezai says about Blerta Xhomo’s “Transcendence as a body of mind” exhibition.
“The reasonable enclosure of her works may impair the open form that is presented as a variation of an inner conflict of character. My imagination as an alteration of the psyche – how we can use psyche to discover silent areas of interest to the public – would generate the special evocation about Xhomo’s pictures as a revealing journey,” he adds.
Blerta Xhomo graduated in paining from the Academy of Arts in the early 1990s just as the country’s communist regime was collapsing.
Her exhibition at the FAB gallery of the University of Arts will be open from January 8 to 16.
