TIRANA, July 14 – The Greek media is reporting that it is very likely the two dangerous escapees from the Trikala prison who remain at large have crossed the border into their native Albania.
The Greek police, border guards and coast guard officers are still searching for two of the fugitives. They say that there is great possibility that the two Albanian fugitives, Marian Kola and Ilir Koupa, may have crossed the border back into Albania, their homeland, as revealed by a number of trails along the border.
“We cannot exclude the not-at-all-unlikely possibility that they have probably returned home,” a senior Greek police officer said.
The police also added that they found no signs of the fugitives the past few days. As stated, either someone is hiding them or they have sneaked over the border.
According to further police information, Kola, who is the main suspect of the murder of two people, has a lot of unfinished business in Albania and faces potential retribution. So there are also suspicions that the fugitives might have gone as far as Kosovo.
