TIRANA, Feb, 17 – Two Albanian sisters living in the United States have just finished shooting their second feature called “In the Woods,” an adventure and thriller story of a vacationing couple. With more than 10 years living in the States, Vilma and Greta Zenelaj are the founders of Colored Films which is the first Albanian film production company in Hollywood.
“In the woods,” is a 2010 production, a thriller that was shoot in limited conditions for 10 days, with only 10 crew and cast members at the Angeles National Forest. The movie will have its world premiere on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the 9th Annual Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, the Zenelaj sister say on their website.
“We are thrilled to be screening at the FE Film Festival. We are especially excited to join the dialogue about the role of women and arts. Both my sister and I have been dedicated to increasing diversity in the community of women artists. We work for empowerment and visibility of women artists,” said founder of Colored Films and film producer Vilma Zenelaj.
“Having our film ‘In The Woods’ accepted at the FE Film Festival means that our hard work and talent will be recognized. Being a minority among women directors we proudly join the celebration of women filmmakers from around the world,” said writer and executive producer Greta Zenelaj.

Born and raised in Albania, Vilma has been a writer of poems and short stories since she was 9 years old and writing is her first passion. In 2008, Vilma wrote ‘What Do I Do Now?’ a dark comedy, which she also directed, produced, and had a supporting role. The film was completed in 2009. It was a handful for her first feature, but the movie was well received and won best comedy feature at the 2009 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
